Creating A Healthy Body Image

Be the best you can be and comfortable in your own skin. Beauty comes from within, once you love who you are, you will glow. If you struggle with your body image read and implement my top tips.

  • Surround yourself with positive people. The mind is powerful. Positivity matter’s, feed off it!
  • Spend time with your friends and giggle lots. Laughter is the best medicine and good friends will always pick you up when you need it.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others. It’s unhealthy. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There is no perfection. Who doesn’t love a big bum?!
  • Use credible sources not trashy magazines. Most companies just care about sales…not what’s best for you.
  • Ditch the latest faddy diets, calorie counting & obsessively weighing yourself daily. Numbers of the scales are irrelevant, it’s body composition and how you feel that matters most.
  • Eat sensibly, small meals, fresh/wholesome foods. If it comes in a packet/tin make sure you can read the ingredient list! If not put it back, don’t put it into your body. There will be better, healthier options.
  • Eat small regular meals throughout the day keeping blood- sugar levels balanced, reduce energy dips, cravings and overeating.
  • Learn to cook. It’s fun to experiment with new ingredients, spices and flavours. Get the kids to help you cook from scratch too. You’re their role model for future healthy eating.
  • Avoid and reduce foods that provide empty calories. They are not nutritious and won’t satisfy you. These include sugar, junk foods, caffeine, alcohol, refunded carbs.
  • Get yourself moving, 30 minutes a day is enough if that’s all you can squeeze in. Exercise makes you feel great!
