A running achievement!

How it all began…

Emma joined and successfully completed my Couch to 5k running program back in May 2018. She continued running between 3-5k twice weekly for months until the pandemic hit. Life then changed and motivation ground to a halt.

In September 2022 Emma started weekly PT sessions with me & together we revived her love for running. She had a weekly accountability buddy (me) and carved out time in her week to run alone. As her fitness increased so did the distance and by January, she was running 8k quite comfortably. However, a challenge was needed to keep focus. The Winchester 10k was booked for Sunday 20th February.

What she has achieved

Her first ever 10k race! Emma completed the Winchester 10k in 1hour 10minutes. A fantastic personal achievement and one to be very proud of. I’m looking forward to seeing what future challenges unfold as both her confidence and endurance increases.

Following the pandemic, I wanted to get fit again, lose some weight and generally feel a bit better about myself. A work colleague mentioned she was having some personal training sessions with Clare and, remembering how much I had enjoyed her Couch to 5k sessions, I decided to give it a go and am so glad I did! Clare was endlessly patient in our sessions – letting me lead the pace (mostly!) – but always encouraging me to go forward. It seemed in no time at all I was running 8k and then the Winchester 10k in February. I am very grateful to Clare for her expertise, guidance, encouragement and for believing in me. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her as a personal trainer.
